MINNESOTA BLUEPRINT BASKETBALL
CHRISTIAN STANDARDS & PLAYER CONDUCT AGREEMENT
Please read carefully before acknowledging your agreement.
1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Minnesota Blueprint Basketball (“Minnesota Blueprint” or “the Program”) is an independent, Christian-centered homeschool basketball organization. The Program seeks to develop athletes through basketball, faith, character, discipline, teamwork, respect, and personal responsibility.
This agreement applies to players participating in practices, games, tournaments, team meetings, travel, overnight stays, and other activities organized or sponsored by Minnesota Blueprint. It supplements, but does not replace, any separate registration terms, medical authorization, safety policies, or liability waiver provided by the Program.
2. CHRISTIAN IDENTITY AND TEAM FAITH ACTIVITIES
Minnesota Blueprint’s Christian identity is an important part of the Program. Team activities may include prayer, Scripture, devotions, worship, and other Christian faith activities before or after practices and games, during team meetings, or while traveling.
Players and families are expected to understand the Program’s Christian-centered mission and treat faith activities, teammates, coaches, and differing personal circumstances respectfully. Players are not required by this agreement to make a personal declaration of faith or disclose private religious beliefs.
A parent or guardian should contact the Program director privately before participation if the family has a sincere religious, medical, disability-related, or accessibility concern about a planned activity. The Program will consider concerns individually, in good faith, and consistent with applicable law, safety requirements, and its mission. The Program will limit sharing of sensitive information to those who reasonably need it.
3. PLAYER CONDUCT STANDARDS
Players are expected to:
• Treat teammates, coaches, officials, opponents, volunteers, families, and the public with respect.
• Demonstrate honesty, self-control, sportsmanship, accountability, and appropriate conduct on and off the court when representing the Program.
• Follow reasonable coach and director instructions, attendance and travel expectations, curfews, facility rules, and safety requirements.
• Refrain from bullying, hazing, harassment, threats, intimidation, fighting, sexual misconduct, and discriminatory or degrading conduct.
• Refrain from slander, malicious gossip, knowingly false or harmful statements, and targeted harassment through text messages, group chats, or social media.
• Not possess, use, distribute, or be under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, vaping products, or nicotine products during Program activities, travel, events, or while representing the Program. Medication must be used only as lawfully prescribed or directed.
4. SAFETY, REPORTING, AND COOPERATION
Players and families should promptly report safety concerns, suspected abuse or misconduct, threats, injuries, or other serious issues to the Program director or another appropriate responsible adult. Immediate danger or a medical emergency should be directed to emergency services.
Players must cooperate with reasonable safety directions. The Program may take temporary steps—including separating participants or suspending participation—when reasonably necessary to protect safety while a concern is reviewed.
5. ACCOUNTABILITY AND DISCIPLINARY ACTION
The Program will generally seek to address concerns through a conversation, corrective guidance, or a warning, with parent or guardian notice when appropriate. Depending on the circumstances, consequences may include additional restrictions, suspension, or removal from the team or Program.
The Program may take immediate action without a prior warning when the reported conduct is serious, repeated, threatening, or presents a safety concern. When reasonably practical, the player and parent or guardian will be informed of the concern and given an opportunity to provide relevant information before a final decision. The Program will consider the circumstances and apply its standards in good faith.
Removal from the Program does not automatically determine whether any fee is refundable. Refunds, withdrawals, cancellations, and any nonrecoverable costs are governed by the separate written registration or refund policy provided to the family.
6. PARENT OR GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
Parents or guardians are expected to communicate respectfully with players, coaches, officials, and other families; keep contact and emergency information current; support applicable team rules; and promptly inform the Program of relevant participation or safety concerns.
Parents or guardians are responsible for reviewing the Program’s registration terms and any separate forms provided, including emergency medical authorization, participation-risk information, liability waiver, travel permissions, and media/photo permissions where applicable.
By selecting the required acknowledgment checkbox on the Team/Player Registration form, the player and parent or guardian confirm that they have read, understand, and agree to this Christian Standards & Player Conduct Agreement.
